Next To You

When sky meets earth on moon filled night
As our eyes gaze not to the stars
I know our hearts, at that time, unite
As I am just where you are
To look into the setting sun
Yet, not see the bright orbs descent
I see your smile, just at that time
And all that it represents
Though distance remains an enemy
Allowing us not then to touch
I stand with you to see the sky
As our hands, outstretched, do clutch
