Anxiously waiting
With the patience of Job
Year after year
Every turn of the globe
I wait to be next
Feeling gladsome
Next to be able to say
The time has come
So many before me
So many to come
Marching the same beat
But to a different drum
As long as it takes
I’ll wait to be next
Though at times it seems
My efforts be vexed
I’m somewhat perplexed
But not hexed
Just...
Waiting to be next.

Cool and witty poem, PoetPrentice. Packed w/a chock full of truth. Love the wordplay ... it has bounce and verve. Welcome to PSoup, my poetic friend. And thanks for stopping by my place and sitting a spell for a read. Love your style. Very hip poem. Love and more love to you and yours.

the first addition, my last to read! And another from me: welcome to the Soup! I'm pretty new myself, and am tickled pink to have found it too ;)

I love your wordplay, gladsome :) I love the speed of this little poem, it almost feels like part of a larger performance play on stage, if that doesn't sound to weird :) Welcome to PoetrySoup.
