News Fare

Our news fare, served up every day, Is like the strictest diet Of Covid stats, but now we have to Add the latest riot. You’d think that a pandemic Would unite us but we seem, In this country, more divided Than in King’s most famous dream. Maybe people needed something To distract them from disease Yet a protest doesn’t have to Ratchet up to such degrees. If perhaps we had a leader Who displayed both strength and heart We could battle through these crises Without being torn apart.

Just yesterday I was lamenting to a friend how much we need another Martin Luther King Jr for our age. When in our lifetime has it ever felt so divided... not just racially, but politically? A cartoon in our newspaper today features Trump comparing himself to Abe Lincoln, but Abe was honest and devoted to a united nation whereas Trump is a liar devoted to Trump. Trump won't find a solution to the riots until he has everything set up to make a profit from it! Aloha! Rico

Maybe my comment a little bit different, ilene. It is the despots on the planet i fear most, the one man power regimes, that of China, North Korea, Russia, Iran....yes i agree this incident, does not help,,,,but again, is it the 'Rent a Mob' those that hunger and feed on violence, and lend a hand to anyone whom mock peaceful society?

Right! The ineptitude of the current leader is on display now. He can't hide behind the economy anymore.... But where IS the leadership going to come from. Biden might be just as inept in hiw own way in a crisis. We be in trouble! :) gw
