Newly Cut Grass

Newly cut grass, glistening with dew
Lawnmower a-purring, blades a whirring
Of an early Spring morning, fond memories of you ...
Slicing through tufts of verdure, my senses a-stirring
~ Green piles, scented hills: fresh, alluring

Breathe in the air deeply, hold it a spell
Spring's mint fragrance, a billowing sail
Ahhhh! that invigorating fresh-cut grass smell …
Stretch your arms outward, upward, your held breath exhale
~ Sing to the world-- redolent, your tale

You've got a good pair of ears, an acute sense of hearing, Susan! I imagine that you couldn't smell any gasoline in the air, as Intended the lawn mower to be of the manual variety. Blessings, gw

Would that it were so in Chicago, O oracular Jan: From your mouth to the weatherman's ear!--if not God's ear. Than you for you your kind comments, as always. Warmest wishes, :) Gershon

Thank you very much, Sanjay. Spring is in the air (if we just breathe deeply enough!) Best wishes, Gershon
