New York City's Risen Up Again
From the ashes of ground zero,
From the smoke of fallen towers,
From all the teardrops of her loses
New York City’s risen up again.
Though they tried to shake our nation,
Strike our souls with their darkened fears,
They only pushed us to reach higher,
New York City’s risen up again.
And Father Mike, before his God –
His body done but not his soul.
His spirit lives in what he taught us,
Tossing his torch for us all to hold.
Over mountains, over valleys,
High o’er our lady’s outstretched flame,
Our resolve reached up into Heaven,
New York City’s risen up again.
It’s tomorrow, we’ve rebuilt her,
Remembering our family, friends-
Now all our foes well know our power,
New York City’s risen up again
