New Years Eve
New Years Eve
By 10 o’clock on New Years Eve
Nine friends had come to celebrate
Eight together; with hearts on sleeve
But the last introduced was Kate
Seven beers and I’m feeling fine
Six more crashers were at the door
Five so-called friends had crossed the line
But Kate was laughing all the more
Four more minutes until midnight
Three of my friends were singing songs
Two couples leaving in a fight
Another left to smoke a bong
As the clock was striking midnight
Kate approached me with a kiss
She took my hand then held me tight
A new year is starting; in bliss
Happy New Year!
