New Year On the Bird's Wings
Someone touches its pink and red feather
The bird is still in a buoyant sleep
Ashen darkness floats in the air
In the predawn air the bird breathes deep
Is the sun a little bigger today
Is the orange more eloquent
The sunlight fondles the wings in the nest of hay
The wind blowing is silky and fragrant
Light spreads like your jasmine smile
The bird along with its handsome partner
Flies and flies many a mile
In the daily pursuit of food and water
The New year sun sits on the pool
Saying me goodbye at my window
Diffused sunlight looks cool
In the wind roams whispering snow
With you a good lyrics that I may write
Let me do it right away
From the birds’ wings the departing sunlight
Will soon go away
