New Year Hope

A New Year, soon we'll spend,
Because this one will end.
Christmas will leave with cheer-
Direct us to next year;
Engaging us to then
Find ways to start again.
Get fresh, blank pages to
Have time to regroup, do
Ideal plans on hold-
Just could not start- unfold.
Kindled days reborn,
Leave past excuses torn.
Make way for fresher thought-
New outcomes to be sought
Offering great ways-
Pursuing fuller days.
Questions- no or yes
Resolves what to address.
Solve errors from the past;
Turn to outcomes that last.
Undo what makes us sad-
Voice those that make us glad.
With future choices made,
X-out the ones that fade.
Yes! New Year's plans will give
Zest-filled days to live.
