New Year

All the Christmas music is ended,
all the Christmas shows are over.
The season finds its peace
in the passing quiet and stillness.
Chilled by winter's cold
  now maintained and held steadfast
with New Year hope.

A Hope for all the days to come,
that peace and love can grow,
that it touches the very hearts
of every man and every woman
bringing joy to all the children
  throughout the world
for the New Year.

Would that the season could last forever
and never be there want or sorrow, or hate and war.
Life though continues never sitting on the sidelines,
always struggling and moving forward, holding out
It is clinging to the dream
only the best will come to be
in the birth of the New Year.
