In dense forest we stood to face our foe
German tribes defied our mighty empire
Ready we were to strike the final blow
Unleashing hell with arrows, sword, and fire.

Treachery made me a gladiator
They wanted blood and loved my fighting skill
My fate I blamed on this cruel dictator
Lucius Commodus I vowed to kill.

This world or next I would have my revenge
For wife and son so mercilessly slain
Games final day their deaths I would avenge
My chance had come to end this tyrant’s reign.

With sword I killed this hateful emperor
They appointed me as Rome’s protector.

A well-thought out, well-written missive. I may have to watch the movie now, as you make it sound pretty powerful, Tom, and I am wondering who the star is, and if I have ever seen it?
