New Hope

Peace and contentment can feel,
An endless frustration to find,
When mixed emotions take over,
Swamping the thoughts in your mind.

In a constant state of limbo,
Stuck between fight or flight,
Exhausted from the flashbacks,
Haunting your sleep at night.

Frantic thoughts fueling the fire,
In the pit of burning fears,
Whilst anxious worries burst open,
Vast floods of bottle in tears.

Nights are often spent wondering,
How and if you'll ever cope,
But remember, nothing lasts forever,
Every sunrise brings a promise of new hope.
