New Hope

As another year comes to a close
I sit and ponder on the past year
time did not seem to slow down
only felt like it ran a faster pace
you come reflect on the good and bad
moments that were happy and sad
but in the end it is what it is
the world will keep on turning
as it has for millions of years
the past couple of years were rough
it tested our strengths and weaknesses
it gave us twists and unexpected turns
but we learned to live and grow with it
so as the world keeps on turning
a new year is once again upon us
we will rely on family and friends
with new hope for many better tomorrows.

Thanks for sharing this. Meanwhile, by God's grace, I greet you with the peace and joy of Christmas toward a prosperous New Year along this present: "the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23 of the King James Bible). God bless you.

How right you are, Phyllis. Considering all of the pandemics and disasters of one kind and another that this world has endured over the centuries, it does, somehow, manage to keep on turning. I, personally, have very mixed feelings about the last three years, however. In one respect, my life has slowed down considerably, and yet...here we are at the end of the third year already, and about to commence the journey into a new one. The last 4 lines of this excellent piece are very uplifting.
