New Glasses, New Wife

Did New glasses
Somehow change your view
Of the woman you thought you always knew

Behind the sparkling smile, shiny hair and animated stories
Who secretly Struggles with boundaries, trauma and worry
Always lending a hand
Offering gifts or checking in
But in return never asks for anything

Did the New Morning
Help you finally to see
How difficult it's been or that you're lucky
To have a lady who's all for the good fight
Who truly wants to make things right
She's willing to grow and has simply wanted You
That You truly can believe in
And who's always fought for You

Does a New Year
Help you to think of future plans
Or were you already there
Despite drudgery and stress
Just needing a push to understand

Did New Glasses
Really change anything at all
Or were you both just blinded
By Love from the start
