New Flame

I had within my heart my dear
A light that burned too long
Until the day that it went away
And heard its lonely song

That flame existed, hot and red
To never be extinguished
But now the presence of another
Has made it then diminish

Now a flame burns even hotter
A death inspiring heat
A candle glow, I’ll have you know
That makes me feel complete
