A memory, the past
somehow I knew, 
we wouldn't last

- You and Me -

Secrets held, not by me
You can't see the hurt, the pain

Words spoken, not by you
Yet, by me

I can see,
while standing at the door

You
and me,
We are, Nevermore

It's been soooo long since I've visited this poem. The first one I posted here. How time flies. I began the journey by posting many and then, I slowed down. For there is no day, without the night. There are no shadows, without the light. There is no love, without hate. There is no living, without heartbreak. The bouquet of life is bountiful, but sometimes spiders are amongst the roses.

I thought I'd go back and see how this all began, the birth of a poet extrodinar. It is always good in relationship and in life in general, to listen to your inter voice, the heart ever so true. It's best for everyone in the relationship in the long run. Your poetry always seems to come from your sensitive heart and is always endearing to me, Brandy. Bill, I'm in complete awe with you reading my first poem posted here. The title has a Poe feel, of course, while the words are more emotional. They pull at the heart. I think we all can relate to this, in some way. Emotions are like string, you should always be careful when you untie them. I appreciate you and your lovely comment, my dear friend. Luckily, in this case love was not blind! Heart and mind are meant to work in unison...and a woman's sixth sense can be very helpful in a situation such as this. I hope since then true love did come knocking at your door :) Regards & Hugs // paul

Even though this poem isn't based on a real life moment when I posted it, there is truth behind these words. I was in a relationship that didn't last, and I am so thankful that I was smart enough to end it. He was Jealous and Controlling. Two very bad qualities to have.
