He went to be a soldier That cold and wintry Spring, Dying for the noble cause,he believed in; The lilac was just budding When news of him was sent, Her last letter returned' killed in aciton' Described ,the honeymoon they spent; Just a short time only, she weeped and cried For Gran felt my mother kicking That April Granpa died.
