Never the Same As Before
Eagles in the distance fly overhead
as out through the valley below
is the sense that spring is waking up
what once had slept beneath snow.
It's wonderful to see the view out here
as the sun is at it's height in the sky.
They soar out so far and yet come so near;
these winged wonders at home as they fly.
No matter how often I come to this place
it's just never the same as before.
I write of these things that time may erase,
so I find myself coming here more.
All at this place gives way to the new
and that's just as it should be.
Often neglected, ah but for the few
are these things at this place that I see.
