Never the Same

I was thinking that
Our lives will never
Be the same again
For most people it's been brutal
Families ripped apart an
Close family members gone
Never coming back again
Not ever
Small businesses that fold
Has not been revived
Homes lost, people having
To start over
Some struggling to find
A place to lay their head
I was thinking
With a lingering virus that
Has already evolved into
Something more powerful
Plus with a country divided
Where are we headed
