Never Tamed

These eyes are a little squinted...
A splash of grey now on the sides...
A body not the same as life trickles by...
Maybe the golf ball falls a little shorter then
                                                   yesterday...
The times of heading out in the late evening
                                                 are far away..
The frame has changed and the reflection
                                                 not the same...
But a heart not aged with a soul of a child
stays forever young and never tamed...

Let's never grow old, it is a waste of time - we need to taste every new day with expectation and we won't (usually) be disappointed. Love the way you say it! :)

Ah yes, what is inside is truly more important, and you have that ageless quality about you, Michael-- and I am a firm believer that those who are young at heart, it definitely reflects on their outer self... :) and yes, I haven't been that active here-- btw I wish you the best with your book! hugs back to you :D

Bold words and true. Our spirits and love of life can last to our last breath. Well said. Thank you for your more than kind comments. Love, Joyce

Can really relate to this one, Michael. It's hard to understand that we often feel young inside when our body is changing with age. Profound write, my friend. Love, Carolyn
