Never Say Never

Why I took him back.....after all that hurt
Why i've had a change of heart
Thou this one I wanted to dart
I did not want history to steal this art

So I opened the curtain and let the light in, which took more than a glance
Then I proceeded to open the window to let the fresh air dance
After opening the window, the birds and butterflies came in, couldn't miss a chance
The scent of the fresh flowers breezed in without tense
And there I sat smiling at the skies, pure with romance

I enjoyed this write and hope you don't mind me getting on my soap box again. If a relationship fails and breaks up there is a good reason and splitting up should only be done when every other attempt to rescue has failed, not in temper or on a whim. The problem is that if this is the case, what was wrong before remains wrong still so watch out. Kind regards, Ian

G'day njeri... enjoyed the contrast of your two verses in this poem; the first with some regret, and the second with a glimmer of hope - thanks you njeri - Lindsay

The good thing about the window, is that you have a way to escape if he turns out to be a jerk. Sorry I couldn't resist. You deserve a man who will treat you like a princess!

Love the title and the sentiment in the poem - when you let the light in you see a different perspective on life and it is time to forgive:-) hugs jan xx7
