Never Sailed

Your ship sails across the blue,
crystalline water
With the sun bouncing gently off the bay,
leaving it gleaming like stars

My fleet stays ashore
I'm too scared to let them go.
And I hope one day I don't lie alone,
regretting all the ships that never sailed.

Such a beautiful poem. Lost opportunity of never sailing away from shore and watching another ship, doing what ships do best… to sail! I do hope you return and continue to write. I also took a very long hiatus from writing and posting. 2014-2023. So, I hope to see more poems from you soon. All the Best, Michael
