Never Near

Never near

My thoughts return to you.
I close my eyes and you are there to view.
I want to move away and forget about you,
But I can’t, ok, so show me how to feel.
Is this a fantasy or could it become real?

I wish I could forget,
But now you are inside my head.
I keep you from my heart,
Because being alone may be dark,
But at least I have no pain.
Only in your words could I be hurt again
And I cannot go through that, never!

Not that I have a choice,
But hear my voice,
I plead with you to disappear.
For all the words I wish to speak,
I hope you never hear.
