Never Mine

In the dreary woods I walk in my raggedy old clothes,
bare with my heart open in waiting for you,
quite a few new moons have passed,
feeble I grow, weaker with a tick,
spend a solemn night under the stars,
for the sky to bear witness,
that my heart was never mine.
