Never Lasting

Right now I wish I could say I love you with all my heart
But lately you have torn my world apart
With every word you say
My world slowly grows grey

If we rewind back to the day
When we first met
Our words set in stone
We promised each other that together we would never be alone

Now you say you want to leave this home
Then leave, leave me alone
Our previous words set in stone
Now crumble to ash
Rewind and in the moment I hope you will never pass
We will make things right
And forget tonight

Be together, never alone
Hang up the phone
Stop the unnecessary fight
And on this night
Leave me be

But remember way back in the day
Back to the way we used to be
Back when all we could think or see
Was us together, you and me
So alive and carefree
