Never Enough
My eyes match the rain
falling into puddles on my pillow
I never knew words could leave scars so deep
You were my right when everything was wrong
You were my frame when I was bending at the base
I adopted your kin as my own
As mine did to you
I traveled to see you daily
Just to feel your arms around me
Your lips on mine
To see your smile
Your dark brown eyes stare into mine
I admired you like a mother her first born child
I never knew what it felt like to be left raw
Until now, and now I know
It was never enough
