Never Alone

NEVER ALONE
By Derrick Smith

Do not shed your tears for me
Because God has called me home
But keep in mind the memories
And the fact you’re not alone
Keep your tears for joyful things
The thought of all that we have done
And know that I no longer suffer
That I am with the one
The one who keeps you thru the day
And watches over you thru the night
The one who helped me make it through
And fought my biggest fight
My spirit lives within all of you
That God saw fit to call me home
I’ve done all that I could do
Know that although I am gone
But do not shed your tears for me
Because with God I am now home
But keep in mind all the memories
And you will never be alone.
         I Am With God Now.

Poet Destroyer A June 20, 2014 at 9:32 PM Derrick, thank you for the kind visit. Now I must visit you again. I'm glad you stopped by. I can honestly say, when I read your poem, yesterday it was only a poem, that reminded me of death. However, today it has a new meaning. Last night I went to church with a friend. Yes, I am In time of need, my spirit sits in a wounded chair. Anyways, while I was at church, my 3 year old granddaughter and her nanny showed up. I never felt blessed, like that before. And if that was not enough. God praised me with a feeling I will never forget. I know now I am never alone. It's been a year since my mother passed away, last June, God called her home.
