Never Alone

Soft footsteps in the sanctuary falls
Where prayers whisper at porous walls
I feel an arm around me thrown
A voice that says "No. Never alone"
Angels come when the heart is tried
The Spirit brings peace each time I cried
He help me to stay my mind on him
And brings me light when life grows dim
No window or door or wanton flesh
Can prevent my God in whom I dwell
My soul before him, a fragile mesh
Hears the sweetest peel beyond any bell
The voice that promised "never alone"
The footsteps that bring me near the throne.
