Never Again
I wish you were here
I wish I had sat beside you yesterday
When I had the chance
I wish I had told you how I really felt
When you said you loved me at the dance.
More than once
I've wished I could shake the hands of time
Until they sent you back.
I'd give every quarter and dime I own
If only they would bring you home.
I regret many of the choices I have made.
I'm sorry for every time I ever hurt you;
I dearly wish I hadn't.
Now I'll have to live with the guilt
Until it's my time to go.
I just didn't know it would end this soon.
I thought I would have forever to make you mine
Death never even crossed my mind.
Now each time I close my eyes,
Your smile haunts my very soul.
For that I'm happy
It assures me I will never forget you
For that moment I know you are still with me
And forever my only love I know you will be.
I pass this on as a note
To all those who speak before they think,
Who shout, knowing it will cause someone else hurt
Sit beside the one you love,
Treat them like a magic glove.
Dance with them
If you have the chance
And if you love them,
Tell them how you really feel
For someday it will be the end;
You'll get the chance to do these things
Never Again.
