Neurodivergent

Those misunderstood minds,
Outsiders in unique, individual states, 
Lost souls live together on islands-
each one imperfectly complete. 
Mind-Hearts felt heard and seen
connect across present time and space. 
Stress signals within near reach 
of each one's personal space
Unhindered by void, not devoid of debris, 
Life is not a vacuum, your pain in my heart... 
Avoid at all costs? What would the Physician have done? 

 Evade life- giving difference is a loss. 
It's a perfect foil for static indifference-
Thwarts typical, neurotypical judgements. 

"Stand up." He said. 
"Pick up your bed and walk."
"Your sins are forgiven."

Aqua Marine February 3, 2024 at 12:26 PM I am relieved you relate to this vulnerable expression of being a "misfit", as I came to realise who I truly am, in a world that doesn't want to, or can't comprehend that being individualistic is sometimes not based on choice, but on circumstances in childhood, and genetics that we had little control over. Until we found self awareness, and the willpower to change what is in our power to change.
