Neurodivergent Those misunderstood minds, Outsiders in unique, individual states, Lost souls live together on islands- each one imperfectly complete. Mind-Hearts felt heard and seen connect across present time and space. Stress signals within near reach of each one's personal space Unhindered by void, not devoid of debris, Life is not a vacuum, your pain in my heart... Avoid at all costs? What would the Physician have done? Evade life- giving difference is a loss. It's a perfect foil for static indifference- Thwarts typical, neurotypical judgements. "Stand up." He said. I am neurodivergent, so I can relate to your poem... Itdelves into the complexity of human experience, shining a light on the misunderstood minds and lost souls who find solace and connection in their unique states of being. Through vivid imagery and heartfelt prose, the poet invites us to journey to islands where imperfect completeness reigns and where mind-hearts resonate with shared understanding across time and space

I am relieved you relate to this vulnerable expression of being a "misfit", as I came to realise who I truly am, in a world that doesn't want to, or can't comprehend that being individualistic is sometimes not based on choice, but on circumstances in childhood, and genetics that we had little control over. Until we found self awareness, and the willpower to change what is in our power to change.
