It is a moonlit night
in my dream,
and the water is still with no ripples.
The Loch Ness is
a large, deep waterway
in the Scottish Highlands.
This is where
Nessie
lives, so it is said, anyways.
No one is really sure
if Nessie is for real or just folklore.
Some say
it is a hoax.
Some see a dragon creature or a serpent,
or perhaps a monster fish or a water beast,
but all affectionately call this creature, Nessie.
It is all very mysterious.
Since the Sixth Century,
to this very day
people have seen a creature
rising. Did you know,
the Loch is ten thousand years old,
dating back to the Ice Age, and
frozen for twenty thousand years.
It is a moonlit night
in my dream,
and the water is still with no ripples.
Then, in silence a small black head rises
followed by a long neck and huge body.
I watch in my dream as Nessie swims
under the full moon and hanging clouds,
as far off lightning flashes to Earth in the grey sky.
All is quiet and tranquil for Nessie, and my dream.
