Nerves

I am calm and ready but anxious knowing this day will go by so fast, A lifetime goal accomplished together so life’s getting a little shorter So, I pray when the right moments come we recognize them and make them last a little longer Life won’t always be perfect but we can always dress it up You can wear the little black number and I can find a bow tie to match, sneakers and heels so they know it’s real Feeling like the elevator just dropped, roller coaster eclipsed the hill, or my heart jumped Hands together as I pray this day we take a breath to live and enjoy the atmosphere Don’t hold your breath or close your eyes too long, because this is when you will miss it Everyone is living but not many are breathing Before you, things were uneven but I saw you and caught my breath for the first time I felt free and balanced once again But still nervous so we didn’t even talk the first night However, the silence said everything I needed to hear I hope my heart isn’t beating loud enough to hear Do you remember that night at Whataburger? Now look at where we are p.s. sometimes I like to go back and listen to our silence from that night…
