Neptune

they told me space is empty
but it never feels empty
it feels like something that forgot how to speak

neptune lives where the light gives up
where blue turns into something deeper than color
something closer to quiet

i think about distance a lot
how it stretches without asking
how it keeps going even when you don’t want it to

we sent something out there once
a small machine carrying pieces of us
like proof we existed

but it just kept going
