Neil Young At the Door
'You are like a hurricane
There's calm in your eye
And I'm getting blown away'
(Neil Young Like a Hurricane’)
his friends had given him their version of the weather report
gale force winds flood warning thunderstorms and destruction
she has done it before is a dreamer addict and rides on a broom
close the shutters put a log on the fire and check the drain pipes
their advice sounded hollow for when a hard rain’s a gonna fall
blowing in the wind may be the better option than dying inside
he had no time for torrential tears and sounded the depth of her soul
filled with emotions as he searched for Atlantis at the shore of her eyes
mesmerised they made love in the beach hut of smooth drift wood
lay on sea grass and pebbles and embraced dolphins and star light
her broom was a sceptre of kindness and wielded naked compassion
passion and lust like a hurricane steadied their minds and cohabitation
calm and tranquil they glowed like the moon waxing and waning
as they sailed on pleasure love joy on winds and growth of change
the roof leaked but did not halt a wild wet and magical passage
of time surrender fulfilment and reincarnation of forgotten treasures
jellyfish sea-horses peace doves and a circling gull gave their blessing
shouted as by law of nature you must spread your wings and fly high
sand caressed their skin and ground away sadness sorrow and doubts
and the beacon of freedom watched over intuition courage and tides
'Take him by the hand
Make him understand
The world on you depends
Our life will never end'
