Neighbourhood

Neighbours come in many
 shapes and conditions.

Some are helpful some
 benign.

Some become friends for
 all time.
They're there when needed
 time after time.

Some just to say hi,
Some will help out with grass
or snow,

Some come with flowers, a card
or just good wishes.

There is caring and sharing on
 all property lines.

We are all seem like family on
this avenue of mine.

my neighbors are just plain weirdos! They fire off 12 gauges at midnight. they are nice people, but rambunctious! Nice Flow. Thanks for your nice words of encouragement for me.

Neighbors come and go. Along with the seasons of grass and snow. Some you like, some you don't. It usually depends on who you know. We don't get to know our neighbors anymore. Maybe see them at the store. A passing nod and understanding. But on your doorstep, they won't be landing. It's pretty sad, what can I say? We all seem a little scared to be friendly today.

Hi Anne, Good poem I like the sound of your neighbourhood, seems very different from mine, I live in the country, so couldn't really say I have a 'neighbourhood'. P.S. I did hear about lulu, was rather surprised, but I think I'll stay at poetry soup.

Sounds like our street or I should say Crescent. We thought of moving a few times but would we ever get as nice people as the ones that live on the street. That has been 40 years already and we never did move. Loved your poem. God Bless phyl

anne, how industrious you sound. How I wish I knew how to market all the chapbooks I have for sale. Online does nothing to sell them! You have a wonderful neighborhood. Growing up, we only were really friendly with the ones immdiately around us. Today even less so. I kind of miss the charm of warm neighborhoods!

Good poem and true. LuLu left a message before it shut down saying they've decided to keep the poetry section... They said it'll be somewhat different in form...But it will be coming back. Love eastmanproperties.

That's very true Anne. Good neighbors are even better than brother or sister who live from a distance. Thanks for your comment. Ernilando

Nice write on the neighborhood, Anne. I have written a poem on my sub-division, a villanelle, The gentle dwellers.
