Neighborhood Gift

When the bed creaks and the mattress rises
It is time
Not a hint of animosity of being ripped away
From nights cocoon
In darkness thumping rythmic tail
Clothes doned in hast
Leash, poop bag, flashlight
Dog
Before dawn's birthing frog and bird sing in
unison.
Refreshed and appreciative of small dog
bladder
The neighborhood is ours
