Notes About The Poem

Neglect

Long-time neglect morphs into degradation

A sad sight of a deserted dwelling; a burning eyesore

Tantamount to sown seeds of dreams forgetting to sprout

Unharvested fruits withering on the vine

Undreamt dreams rusting like wet metal

A sanctuary with no one seeking refuge there

A garden without a gardener to tend it; growing weeds,

all the planted seeds staying buried in the soil

A place of potential given up on - large stores laying empty/closed while new ones are being built and the homeless need homes. The trash I see everywhere that breaks my heart is like emphasis points to your emotive imagery. Keep speaking, keep writing - we cannot waste valuable space, or any other resources. All the best ...
