Need To Know

We need not know everything,
let some of life be a surprise,
remember the glow in a child's face,
remember the gleam in their eyes.
The wars that run the world,
the terrors of nature run wild,
the shame for our faults and sins,
fade in the smile of a child.
We cannot light the universe alone,
or in numbers too large to count,
but we can bring love to our neighbors.
We know this, and surely, there can be no doubt.
