Today I took the time to sit and watch the flowers grow. In the stillness of their beauty they said all I need to know. I leaned a little closer, though their voice was in my heart, needing to be extra sure I understood each part. “As you, we have the gift of life and hope for love and care. As you, we’ve dangers lurking all about us everywhere. As you, we need water from when heaven sends the rain. We need food and air and sun, and yes, we can feel pain” Through the weight of my stare I was keenly aware of being much bigger and taller, but their innocent voice gave me hardly a choice and I suddenly felt so much smaller. Today I chose to make the time to help the flowers grow, share with them the things they need, most of which I know. So precious are the gifts of life surrounding us everywhere, all we really need to know is the heart of someone who cares.

So good to hear from you, hope you’re well and finding some peace this holiday season. The peace prize of life’s scavenger hunt that gets harder every year. All my best to you and yours.

That’s so lovely Jeannie, I will always be aware from now on that even the smallest flower needs tender love and care… Belle

Smallest flower, smallest animal, smallest child, we all need a little love.
