I waited for my woman and the dawn to rise Darkness was fading in the east Waves drifted in softly lapping the shoreline Palm leaves made rustling sounds The silky voices of two doves cooed in unison The sun slowly began to peak around the clouds Escaping the confines of the cirrus lattice Unleashing its brilliance The sun’s rays bounced off each swell, Lightly leaping from foamy wave to foamy wave Giving the waves a reason to forcefully splash the shore Splaying a spectrum of pastel colors in its spread The brilliant sunlight explodes hues of color Palm leaves appear greener than green The dark of darkness disappears, but The dark remains hidden in tomorrow It always waits the dark is always there Hiding in the crevices of the human soul Often exposing demons Frequently twisting inside the myriad twists of the thinking But today the sun shows it is in control Its heat makes my heart long for my love to be close Hark! In the distance she appears her green eyes glowing staring at me Looking resplendent, quietly she exposes her naturalness My prayers are answered my happiness soars She approaches me in all her gorgeous, natural splendor My expectations are overwhelmed, My woman knows me like no one else, she reaches to touch me This is a woman made to make a man happy and I am that happy man.
