Nature Finds a Way
The birds meet the morning with a song,
The guinea pig chirps for her food.
The owl sleeps all day long,
The duck gathers her brood.
Day in and day out, simplest routines.
Animalistic survivors living in their means.
I sit in the forest alone, but surrounded by all.
Sitting below the ancients, one hundred feet tall.
You’re not entirely alone, for life moves on.
Whether I’m happy and alive or dead and gone.
Days bring sunshine, days bring rain.
The entire world was mine, but now it’s just pain.
Problems for the evolved, problems for the children.
They’ve got the problem solved, the birds aren’t worry ridden.
A fight for survival both the animals and I.
Though do they think about how to die?
The woods seem empty, no daily sounds.
I can no longer see, happy squirrels on the grounds.
The darkness took over, the sunlight is lost.
A depressed and lost rover, I’ve valued the cost.
But the time has come now, I can no longer stay.
There’s nothing for me to say, except “Nature finds a way”
