Nature Encourages My Escape
In the past the wind of this riverside would not have comforted me
I probably would have never noticed the fragrance of delicate violets.
The robins' chatter might have annoyed me, for my ears are dog ears.
However, today in this moment, as I admire the autumn fancifulness.
I gaze to the mountains and feel a reverence for this hallowed place.
Bird chatter feels like singing, and comforts me in some weird way.
In the future I will head toward those snow-capped mountains.
traipsing toward them through Germany’s black forest.
Today frothy clouds greet me, encouraging my escape from my limitations.
