Nature: Earth Nurse

I’m famished, haven’t eaten, am starving to death,
My hunger has never been worse,
Could you please give me a little, small bit of food,
And bury it into my Earth,

Just a seed or three, or a tube stock tree,
Maybe some hedge in a row,
With a small drink of water and a nice bit of care,
Just to help each little one grow,

And where you plant it doesn’t matter at all,
In a gully, or hill, or a field,
And the more you grow, the better I get,
My hunger and thirst’ll be healed,

I’m famished, haven’t eaten, am starving to death,
I need you to be my own farming nurse,
And plant as many plants that you can,
Into me, your own mother Earth.

I heeded your call thirty years ago. Our section of 809 sqm attracts native birds and we have shade a plenty. Like minds in our street but the subdividing has started, house opposite us just changed hands and developer has cut down every tree ready to maximise units on site non notified consent of course. We have lost fight to re-open a clean fill that sits on flood plain. I have complaint with ombudsman re council handling of matter. Sending many poems as I can to keep people smiling. David
