Listen to poem:

Natural Rhythm

Natural Rhythm

I feel there's something heavy
Pressing on my bones
Medusa's gaze has got me
Turning into stone..

My life needs new perspective
Like some higher place to view
A log jam in my thinking
Or my prayers desire review

It's noisy and unsettling
I cannot find that space
Where I sit and welcome stillness
To caress and kiss my face

A wild storm shouts around me
And the structures rattle out
I need peace and understanding
To explain that noise without

Or maybe just the quiet,
Silent place within
Is the park bench where I settle
While the world creates it's din

As in nature's restful bosom
I can reconnect again
As trees dance to the birdsong
And the rhythm of the rain.
