Natural Language

Fallen Autumn leaves know the babbling water's dialect, the language of the mute stream, Socratic running of its mouth. Pretzeled on a stump, I dream what horrors and wonders I've missed.

"the language of the mute stream"... how sad and yet beautiful! I love your melancholy descriptions of Autumn and it feels like something that could have been written centuries ago, in the height of Sijo's popularity (though I'm not sure that 'pretzeled' was a word back that long ago).

So nice to read your work today, a most dramatic use of the form! [I've written one about leaves called Cling in this form I bet you'd like it] Light & Love
