Nathan

... He was one of the good ones The best of the best. He had gone into danger At his nation’s request. He was not there to fight Only there to rebuild. Too young, and too good And too brave to be killed. He is one of too many Who’ve gone to Iraq To help protect freedom But will not be back. His parents are proud To have raised such a one; A beautiful, dutiful Wonderful son. His friends are in tears, Their loss is immense, That he’s not coming home Just doesn’t make sense. Some are spared some are taken. God only knows why. He took our love with him When his turn to die. 12/23/03

this one is sad to me. My old best friend's name is Nathan. We never talk anymore. He is alive and well. Many of my friends are dead, but the great ones who I lose contact with seem to bother my soul just as much.
