Nameless King

Stargazing from within
Acknowledging the end

I gave myself away
To allow what may
Standing in my way
I cast my doubt into the bay

I arose to a winter solstice
I blossomed like a lotus
Orbiting without direction
I am true, I am fiction

Sitting with my heart open
Living with my psyche broken
Whispering prayers to a nameless deity
Wishes echoing throughout eternity

Counting letters
Searching for something better
Sweet is the taste of love & life
Heavy is the weight of guilt & strife

Wandering the deserts of New Mexico
Wanting to let go
Of this poison
That Fate has chosen

A glutton, when it comes to too much of a good thing
A siren, captive to every throng life brings
I sing
Only to never be made King.
