Nameless
Excitement overflowed
in their loving abode.
Their hearts were in a whirl.
The results showed it’s a girl.
With still months to wait
All they did was anticipate
The coming blessed event.
His wife with her Russian accent
Sang joyously all day long.
Such happiness in each song.
All was in readiness for the baby
Except to pick a name maybe.
His wife had ideas of a sweet name.
They just couldn’t agree on one and the same.
He wanted her named after his mother
Mary Jane Smith, He didn’t pick another.
Svetlana Tatiana Galina Smith his wife chose.
Now this became a great problem that arose.
Finally the day of their daughter’s birth.
More precious than gold the baby was worth.
To all visitors their beautiful daughter was shown.
To the nurses Baby Smith she was known.
The form they were given for the birth registry.
Would they name her Svetlana or would she be Mary?
I will keep you guessing for a little longer.
Whose decision was to be the very much stronger?
Years passed her nick name became Sweet Pea.
A loving family, no happier could they be.
Soon it was time for their beautiful girl to go to school.
Her Birth Certificate had to be produced, it was the rule.
The certificate was handed to the school forthwith
Showing the child’s name being Nameless Smith.
