The love of Jesus compels all men to come to Him just as we are. We stand before God knowing everything, yet He chooses to cover us with His love, erraticating our sin and shame. Like no other, He sees the broken, the guilty, and He knows our shame. He knows what being naked and ashamed feels like... and because He nakedly bore our shame on the cross, it
is the reason we can freely come. He sees pass the sin and sees the troubled man. His love covers all that we are secretly guilty of or shamefully exposed to others. His love covers it all.
Isaiah 1:18
“Come now, and let us reason together,” saith the Lord. “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool
Naked Unashamed
Standing here, here am I,
Can no longer feel comfort, can no longer cry.
This has all been too much for me,
No one to no longer turn to Oh God, but thee.
I stand here wounded, naked, in pain,
But before you, Lord God, I am unashamed.
For I find only you choosing not to see,
my fault, sin, and shame; seeing only me.
Only you can make me whole and new,
Here am I Lord God, do what you must do.
Like a cloak, your love just covering me,
Your crimson blood, my robe, so lovingly.
I feel your embrace, despite all man's scorn,
that made me almost wish I had never been born.
How can there be shame when love is covering me?
No gazing at my condition, no shame before thee.
You pitied me when you could have turned me away,
You turned my shameful night into day.
What love, oh what mercy, my sins to pay,
No longer naked and unashamed.
