Naked

Exposed and bare,
stripped and stark-

a body without a soul is nude...
an unclad essence in the dark.

Unvarnished and unsettled,
raw and unprotected-

me without you- defenseless...
an overt still rejected.

Within my natural modesty,
I've found a reason to be prude-
a manifestation and oddity,
I'm more hidden in the nude.

Thought provoking, this sends my mind to different places, though always coming back to that final line. This was amazing.

Laura, that is one magnificent last line...so revealing yet so protected.
