MZANGA
You didn’t come with fireworks,
no loud knocks on my guarded heart.
You came gently, like rain easing into dry earth.
I had built walls, thick and tall, thinking silence would keep the pain out, and in that hiding, I called it “strength.”
You never tried to tear my walls down.
You simply waited outside, your hands open and your heart steady.
You didn’t demand a change.
You didn’t ask me to be more than what i was.
And somehow, without trying, you melted what life had frozen in me.
Not with violence but with your patience Mzanga.
Mzanga, you are a proof that real love doesn’t shout or force;
it stays and slowly makes room for everything to bloom again.
It’s amazing how you never tried to fix me.
You just stood beside the mess I was, and somehow, that made me want to be better.
Not for you,
but because you reminded me i was still worth the effort.
You noticed the parts of me I tried to hide,
the way I flinched when people got too close,
the way my laughter sometimes felt forced.
And still, you chose me every day without questions.
You made peace feel possible.
Yah is wasn't perfect but atleast it was real.
Mzanga, you are not just a proof, you are the reason my heart beats softer now,
the reason I believe love doesn’t have to hurt to be deep.
If there is a miracle in this life, then it is that someone like you, loved someone like me until I could love myself too.
